Why is the arrival of agents in generative artificial intelligence changing what it means to develop an online course? What does agentic AI look like in the day-to-day work of instructional design teams partnering with faculty at Oregon State University Ecampus? How does a holistic, research-based framework for this work shift the conversation? In this session, Dr. Raul Moreno, an OSU instructional designer focusing on the humanities and social sciences, will share his team’s experience exploring the development of course-specific bots and experimenting with enterprise-level agents to augment course development. Following Raul’s presentation, guided discussion questions will prompt small groups to think through the challenges and opportunities posed by generative AI tools.
